Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a humectant — it doesn't add oil or lipids, it draws water into the skin's surface. That only works if there's water nearby to draw from, which is why it's meant to go on damp skin and get sealed in with a moisturizer, not applied to bone-dry skin in a dry room.

Rules that don't bend
  • Apply to damp skin, then seal with moisturizer — on dry skin in low humidity it can pull water from the skin instead of the air.
