What Skinzy does, what it deliberately does not do, and what we each agree to when you use it.

1. What Skinzy is
A cosmetic skin-analysis tool, not a clinical one.
Skinzy analyses a selfie you provide and returns a cosmetic read of your skin across five facial zones — forehead and nose (the T-zone), both cheeks, the under-eye area, and the chin and jawline. For each zone it estimates five characteristics: oiliness, dryness, visible blemishes, pigmentation, and sensitivity. It then suggests skincare ingredients and matching products based on those estimates.
By using Skinzy you agree to these terms. Skinzy is operated by Yash Ghansham Thakare, an individual based in India, and is currently offered in beta.
2. Skinzy is not medical advice
This is the most important term on this page.
Skinzy does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. It is not a medical device, it is not a substitute for a dermatologist, and its output is not a clinical finding. The scores it produces are estimates from computer vision on a single photograph.
If you have a persistent, painful, spreading, bleeding, or rapidly changing skin condition, please see a qualified dermatologist rather than relying on Skinzy. Do not delay seeking medical care because of anything Skinzy shows you.
3. Accuracy and beta limitations
What the technology can and cannot reliably tell you.
Skinzy is in active development and its accuracy is limited. Results vary with lighting, camera quality, head angle, makeup, facial hair, and skin tone. The same person photographed twice in different conditions may receive different scores.
Because of this, we deliberately constrain what Skinzy will report. Scores are capped below their theoretical maximum so the tool cannot present an alarming result it is not capable of justifying, and each zone is reported with a confidence level. Where a measurement cannot be made reliably — for example a chin obscured by facial hair, or a frame too dimly lit to read — Skinzy marks that measurement as not taken rather than guessing.
Skinzy will also refuse to analyse some photographs outright, including images that are too blurry, too dark, too low-resolution, contain more than one face, or where the face is turned too far from the camera. This is intentional: declining is better than returning a number we do not trust.
4. Your responsibilities
Only upload photographs of your own face. Do not upload images of other people, whether or not you know them, and do not upload images you do not have the right to use.
You must be 18 or older to use Skinzy, or have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
Please do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service, and do not use automated tools to submit images at scale.
5. Ingredient recommendations
We suggest ingredients and link to a retailer search for them; we do not sell products.
Skinzy recommends skincare active ingredients based on your scan, and links each one to an Amazon search for that ingredient. We do not name, manufacture, sell, stock, or ship any specific product, and we are not responsible for the quality, price, availability, or formulation of whatever a retailer's search results turn up, or for the conduct of any retailer.
A search link is a starting point, not an endorsement of any particular listing. Always check the actual product's ingredient list, price, and expiry on the retailer's own page before buying.
Skincare products can cause irritation or allergic reactions. Patch-test new products, read their ingredient lists — particularly if you have known allergies — and stop using anything that causes a reaction. Some ingredients Skinzy may mention require a prescription and a doctor's supervision; these are flagged as such where we surface them.
6. Intellectual property
The Skinzy name, interface, and analysis engine belong to its operator. You keep all rights to the photographs you upload; you grant us only the limited permission needed to process your image in order to return your result.
Skinzy is built on open-source components and openly licensed datasets. Those third-party licences and their required attributions are documented in the project's source repository.
7. Liability
Skinzy is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its results will be accurate for you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to Skinzy is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any outcome arising from a skincare product you chose to buy or use.
Nothing here limits any right you have under Indian consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
8. Changes, termination, and governing law
We may update these terms as Skinzy develops. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Skinzy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
We may suspend or withdraw access if these terms are breached, and we may change or discontinue features at any time while in beta.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
